Fit Tip

To burn more calories in less time the next time you hop on a piece of cardio equipment, try intervals.  Increase your intensity to a difficult pace for 30 seconds, followed by 2 minutes at an easier pace. Repeat this sequence for up to 30 minutes. Once you master that, take the difficult pace up to a full minute!

Hip Health

Hip Health!: When you squat, be sure and keep your heels on the floor. If you can't, your hip flexors need to be stretched. Try this: Hold onto the sides of the squat rack, or something else stable, and lower yourself until your thighs are parallel to the ground. Hold for 30 seconds.

Count Reps Backwards

Try This! I count my repetitions backwards. Doing so causes me to think of how many reps I have left instead of how many I’ve done when I get to the end of a tough set. ;-) I like to be an optimist, haha.

Chew on This!

Chew on This!: Besides helping you feel full, chewy foods have been shown to brighten your mood, too! A 2009 study suggests that the act of chewing can decrease stress hormone levels. Just make sure you have a toothbrush or floss nearby ;-).

Olive Oil!

The Bible on…Olive Oil!: “Until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of corn and wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of oil olive and of honey, that ye may live, and not die” (2 Kings 18:32).

Hit the Weights!

Cardio Not Getting You the Fat Loss Results You Want? Hit the Weights!: Resistance training has a huge effect on post-workout caloric burn, which helps explain why it’s so essential to fat loss.

Crash Dieting

Research shows crash dieting, anorexia, or nutrient deficiencies increase a person's susceptibility to infections, but overconsumption of calories can also have harmful effects on cell production in the immune system.

Fit for Faith

Hey there! Thanks so much for checking out my website! If I can be totally honest, I don’t believe for a second that it’s an accident you’re here. I believe that you, like me and countless other young women, are pursuing a level and quality of fitness that far transcends the superficial, secular ideals of beauty, happiness, and well-being as defined by the culture around us. I believe with all my heart that the Christian life is intended to be lived vibrantly, victoriously, and abundantly, as Jesus Christ says in the Gospel of John, with eternity continually in view. And yes, as you can probably deduce from the name of this site, I strongly believe our physical fitness has a significant role to play on eternity’s stage! Grab a cup of green tea, stay a while, and explore and reflect upon God’s will for your body – it is a temple, after all!
